Here are some facts that I learned from my research:
- They have wings when they are born and they fall off when they get older.
- The ants in my video are Texas Carpenter Ants.
- They do not have piles, instead they have tunnels underground.
- I do think they like salt cause they loved the salty pretzels
- They are one of the biggest ants in the world
- They most of the time build nest in wood but not always
- 14 species of the ants destroy wood and trees
- They have a circle of hair on their belly
I discovered that the ants with wings are not queens, they are baby ants. When we looked at the ants a week later their wings were not on them.

Here is the third ant tunnel when I figured out that the ants are hatched with wings!
